The Board of Education approved the Schaumburg High School proposal for an adjusted school schedule for "morning work sessions" for the 2009-20010 school year. This adjusted schedule gives faculty the opportunity for professional development and collaboration directed toward the improvement in the quality of teaching and instruction. Our ultimate goal is to increase student achievement both in the classroom and on the Prairie State Achievement Exam.
The media center and student cafeteria will be available for student use at 7:30 a.m. on these dates. The bell schedule will be as follows:

VIP Club Spring 2010 Art & Craft Fair
The Schaumburg High School VIP Club has decided to cancel the Art and Craft Fair scheduled for March 6, 2010 because of conflicting craft fair events within the area. On-line prepayment coming to District 211 Food Service
Effective February 1, 2010, parents can take advantage of the convenience of on-line credit card payment for their child’s High School District 211 food service prepayment account. Utilization of the on-line prepayment system will allow parents to better manage their child’s food service account, while also providing an opportunity to make a deposit into their child’s account using a Visa or MasterCard credit card.
The on-line prepayment system can be accessed by logging in to the On-line Parent Access system through the Schaumburg High School Web Site under SHS online services , and following the links to the food service prepayment account. The system will allow parents to view their child’s account balance and add funds, as well as view their child’s purchase history. A link also is available which provides a description of many items available to students.
On-line deposits made to your child’s account by 9:00 p.m. will be available at the start of the next school day.

BPA will be selling carnations for $2.00 each on Monday through Thursday outside the cafeteria near entrance four. Carnations will be delivered on Friday, February 12th during 2nd hour. “Hope for Haiti” T-shirts will be sold for $10.00 outside the student cafeteria during all lunch periods on Wednesday, February 10th through Friday, February 12th. The profits will support the American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. Wear your T-shirts to the “hope for Haiti” basketball game on Friday, February 12th to show your support.

SHS Vision, Mission & Values
During the 2008-2009 school year, Schaumburg High School students, parents, and staff worked to revise the school's mission and vision. The charge was to define what kind of school we were and what we wanted to become. The school's new mission statement is :

SHOcase
SHOcase of the Bands is coming!
Who? All bands* interested in participating in the SHOcase of the bands must turn in a demo CD to Ms. Howard or Mrs. Dvorak in the Social Studies office (rm. 249) by February 5th.
What? ShoCase is a fundraising event held by Students Helping Others for the American Cancer Society (Relay for Life)
When? March 12th (bands must be available)
* Bands must have at least 50% of their members either Schaumburg Students or Schaumburg Alumni.
