SHS Debate Team Print E-mail

This Saturday, Schaumburg High School hosted the Illinois Congressional Debate Association (ICDA) Tournament of Champions Qualifying Tournament.  Other than the IHSA State Debate Tournament, this competition is the most rigorous and most prestigious within the State of Illinois.  We hosted over 20 schools with over 400 competitors total.  Last year, Schaumburg won 1st Place as a Team (normally, we win first place as individuals, but we captured the overall Sweepstakes award).  We started this weekend's debate as defending champions.

We are now BACK-2-BACK Student Congress Champions. Schaumburg, for the second year in a row, ranks over all schools for Illinois Student Congress in the Tournament of Champions Sweepstakes.  Specifically, seniors Palak Patel (Captain), Jay Mehta (President), Aru Singh (Vice-President), Parth Shah (Secretary), Rishi Arora (Foreign Affairs Committee Chair), Cathy Suresh (Economics Committee Chair), and Kali Froh (Case Chair) propelled us to victory.  Argue on, Debating Saxons!
