Art and Design - (A152)

Fun and interesting projects in ceramics, printmaking, watercolor & tempera paint, drawing and sculpture.

Yr. 2

Drawing/Printmaking- (A253-A254)

Students learn to advance their drawing skills by using a variety of drawing materials, techniques, still life arrangements and human models.

In Printmaking, students learn to make multiple copies of one drawing using intaglio, silk screening and lithography.

Yr. 3

Painting 1- (A353)

Students develop oil pastel drawings and oil paintings of natural objects, still life, and interior environments and/or landscapes and experience an art field tripto Chicago.

Painting 2- (A354)

Introduction to traditonal and experimental techniques in acrylics and watercolors applied to a school mural, self portrait, landscape, and painting a non objective art work to music.

Commercial Design 1 and 2- (A233 / A243)

A design course based upon real-world situations and careers in art. Students take the role of the professional designer using marker, airbrush, and computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.

2D Studio-A457

2D Studio is an independent study in painting and/or drawing. Students gain insight into art careers, studio design and portfolio development. Students take a Fine Art Field Trip. They also produce a one person in school show.

2D Computer Studio-A477

Experience computer imaging, web page design, green screen & video editing, digital photography, and 3D animation. A career field trip exposes students to potential employment opportunities. Student's final project includes an interactive CD Rom of all their artwork / portfolio.
