| Utilizing the model developed by several other District 211 schools, Partners PE was offered for the first time at Schaumburg High School during the 05-06 school year. Partners PE provides an opportunity for fellow SHS students to assist the students with multiple challenges (MC Class) during their Adapted Physical Education period. Partners are required to dress for PE and are expected to provide modeling and guidance to the MC students during a variety of fitness and sports related activities, including training for the Spring Track and Field Special Olympics. Additionally, the Partners are responsible for developing and teaching a PE unit each quarter. The MC students quickly pick up on the enthusiasm of their peers!
At this time, peer enrollment is limited to students who are currently seniors; however, there is an effort to expand the program to include juniors in the future. For more information, please see Mrs. Sullivan in PE, Mrs. Andry in room 41, or a guidance counselor.
