Computer Literacy is designed to help students with special needs to acquire skills to be  successful.  Keyboarding technique and computer usage on various software packages will be stressed. Designed to enhance the use of the computer as a tool by developing keyboarding proficiency, stressing productivity, file management, with an emphasis on speed and accuracy.  MS Excel and PowerPoint are included.
B163 - Advanced Computer Skills & Applications (1/2) B181 - Introduction to Business (1)
This class uses Microsoft Office to complete the introductory course designed to develop keyboarding, word processing, and computer skills.  Software used includes Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Web Design. Understanding how local and international businesses work is crucial for many citizens.  This class is a combination of consumer-awareness and an introductory business course.
B184 - Business Explorations (1) B223 - Sports and Entertainment Marketing (1/2)
Designed to introduce students to selected topics associated with the business environment.  The class provides the framework for understanding the development and structure of American Business in a global market. Marketing is a tool that has allowed the United States economy to become highly successful internationally. This course is designed to teach marketing concepts through the sports and entertainment and recreation  industry.  
B224 - Practices In Entrepreneurship (1/2) B232 - Web Page Design (1/2)
The ultimate goal is for students to plan, prepare, and operate a small business, marketing bakery goods to staff within the building. Students will study both food preparation and business management with a hands-on approach. This is a half year,  two period course. This course will instruct students in web page design by building basic web pages incorporating more advanced features as the semester progresses.
B265 - Desktop Publishing (1/2) B267 - Study Skills (1/2)
Using a PC in a Windows environment, students learn desktop publishing concepts including graphics and fonts, design principles, scanning, and the use of color. Effective study habits including various notetaking methods, test taking strategies, and test anxiety management are stressed.  Personal learning styles are analyzed and students are taught how to adapt their learning style to various teaching styles.
B274 - Business Media Production B285 - Consumer Education (1/2)
This class is designed to create effective business presentations in a multimedia environment. Focuses on principles of integrating software tools to create presentations through the use of video, sound, photo, and text. This required course is designed to meet state requirements in consumer education.  Instruction will be given in budgeting, money management, credit, insurance, banking, income taxes, advertising, and consumer protection.
B332 - Business Internship/Marketing (1) B366 - Desktop Publishing Independent Study (1)
This cooperative education class is designed for students with a career interest in the fields of marketing and/or business management.  Students are given the opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of marketing careers through on-the-job training in local businesses.  This class also counts for consumer education credit. This class provides selected students the opportunity to apply skills acquired in Desktop Publishing.  Students will produce documents for various school functions including athletic activities, music, drama, scholarship and honors programs.  Enrollment is by recommendation only.
B384 - Business Management (1/2) B386 - Accounting 1 (1)
Good business management requires planning, organizing, controlling, and directing as well as effective decision making.  The basic functions of management will be reinforced through the completion of a small business plan Students study the fundamentals of accounting.  Management of both cash and credit transactions, special journals, subsidiary ledgers, adjusting and closing entries, and the preparation of financial statements.  Especially important for college-bound students planning on majoring in business.
B387 - Business Law (1/2) B486 - Accounting 2 (1)
Students study the administration of the law, various parts of the contract, defenses for breach, bailments and real and personal property.  This course is for students interested in the applications of law to their  personal and business activities
Students study advanced concepts of accounting. This course is ideal for students who are interested in majoring in Business in college.
