What is participation?

Students often ask what participation means.  Participation is 1/3 of a student’s grade and includes the following:

·        Trying to learn

·        Speaking in the target language (Spanish/French)

·        Coming prepared to class

·        Taking notes.  IMPORTANT!

·        Volunteering to answer questions

·        Asking questions

·        Having all assignments completed

·        Working well during group work

·        Paying attention during listening activities

·        Making an effort to speak in the target language (Spanish/French)

·        Working on the task given by Ms. Langer

YOU WILL lose participation points if…

1) you are not prepared in class with a book and supplies

2) you are not trying

3) you are distracting others

4) you don't have your homework

5) you have a poor attitude.
