

40 members of the SHS Choir will attend a performance of "Les Miserables" on Saturday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cadillac Palace Theatre.

The SHS Music Department presented
the Senior Recognition Choral Concert on Thursday, May 17 at
7:00 p.m. in the Weimer Auditorium. All SHS
Choral ensembles performed and special
recognition was given to graduating seniors.
Featured on the program was a medley from the
musical "Les Miserables", the Choraliers'
rendition of "Rollin' in the Deep", a special
selection written for the Military Wives Choir
of Great Britain entitled "Wherever You Are" and
the choir men +1 sang "I'll Make a Man Out of
You" from Disney's "Mulan."
10 boxes of non-perishable food items were
collected at the concert for the Schaumburg
Township Food Pantry.

There were four weddings at SHS April 19
through 21.
Congratulations to the 97 members of the cast,
crew and pit band who presented SHS’s production
of The Wedding Singer.
The audiences were enthusiastic and the actors,
dancers and musicians were in top form
throughout the four shows.


20 members of the SHS Choirs participated as part of the District 211 Honors Choir on Saturday, April 14. The concert, featuring singers from all five District 211 schools, took place at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Gary Tru's Karaoke band introduced the history of karaoke and invited 8 SHS Choir vocalists to sing an assortment of popular songs. Students experienced a Karaoke live band instead of a traditional DJ during the SHS Arts Alive Festival on March 13. Gary Tru, a graduate of SHS, leads a three-piece band that plays events and venues throughout the Chicago area. For more photos click below at TribLocal.com and "like" our pictures.

Schaumburg High School has talent and it was very apparent on Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10, at the SHS Variety Show. 22 acts, including singers, dancers, instrumentalists and an improvisational troupe presented a fast-paced two hour show. On October 19th 57 SHS Choir members attended a performance of Million Dollar Quartet at Chicago's Apollo Theater. After the show the students participated in a question and answer session with the actor/musicians who portray Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis. The cast then posed for photos with individual choir members.

The Holiday Choral Concert was Thursday, December 15. All SHS Choirs performed that evening. The choir students spread a little holiday cheer by raising $400 for the Schaumburg Township Adopt-A-Family Program and by collecting 10 boxes of food for the Township Food Pantry.

The Schaumburg High School Choraliers brought a little holiday cheer to the residents and their guests at Sunrise Assisted Living Center on Saturday, December 10. During the holidays the Choraliers also performed for the Schaumburg Business Association at Chandler's on December 13, the Schaumburg Township Senior Luncheon at the Poplar Creek Clubhouse on December 7, and the SHS Faculty Luncheon on Thursday, December 15.
SHS Choir students attended a matinee performance of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra on Friday, November 18 at 1:30 at the Hemmens Center. The program of musical and love songs featured Broadway actor/singer Sal Viviano, a 1978 graduate of Schaumburg High School. Sal and his wife, actress Liz Larsen, visited SHS on November 22.

The SHS Concert Choir Holiday Dinner Concert was held on November 29 in the cafeteria.
