Censorship
Censorship exists as the primary threat to free speech in our country. It is the product of fear. Fear of controversial ideas, and of discussing controversial topics. However, the best way to resolve controversial issues is through speech, not censorship. Many times, censorships happens uselessly. Censoring classics like Fahrenheit 451, Catcher in the Rye, and the Canterbury Tales deprive students of timeless literature, and as students, we must stand to end censorship in our nation.
