"The other side of the wall..."

Chapter 3

"The other side of the wall" is going to be a regular update available to you as the construction of our three story addition unfolds.  It is an attempt to give everyone in the Schaumburg Community a "birds-eye view" of the work as it progresses.  It will include description, as well as pictures.  You can click on each picture to enlarge it as well.

Jurassic Park!?!?

You may have felt you were in Jurassic Park on Sept 6 (entrance one flag pole was demolished) and Sept 12 (concrete outside entrance two was "turned over" and demolished) as the entire building vibrated! Just another "thrill" that is part of new construction.

Recent progress:
bullet The foundation and floor were completed.
bullet The south wall was back filled.
bullet The flag pole and sidewalks outside    entrance 1 were demolished.
bullet The ground was graded between entrances 1 and 10.

 

In the next couple of weeks, you will see:
bullet Steel for the 1st and 2nd floor erected.
bullet Concrete peers (similar to the one in the picture) for the canopies at entrances 1 and 2 dug and poured.
bullet Curbs at the west end (between entrances 1 and 2) formed and poured.


Please take note: On Saturday, Sept. 22, the water to our building needs to be shut off for a period of time. The work will start at 6 am and be completed between 10 and noon. There will be no water or toilet facilities in our building during this time.
