Good News!
Excellent
progress is being made! We are on schedule!
Even better news..the cold weather should not be a
factor.
Current events:
Field brick and accent brick is being
installed. The field brick is the same color as
the "old building". The accent brick is reddish in
color. The mortar is also reddish in color.
Scaffolding was erected outside entrance
1 and covered with plastic. The mason uses the
scaffolding for laying brick and the plastic is used to
keep the temperature warm enough to do the job right!
Several heaters inside the plastic provide the warmth.
The scaffolding and plastic has moved to the front of
the building the last couple of days.
The windows are currently being
installed.
The plumber is working on the 2nd floor
roof drains.
We should have a complete set of stairs
on the east end by 12/14. I'll get pictures
of the inside progress once that is finished.
On the ground floor, metal stud walls have been erected
and duct work has been hung.
Inside the "old building":
A major change in the discipline and attendance office
is beginning. Mr. Cumings and Mrs. Bullen's
offices will be vacated very soon! All the power
for the addition will be installed in those offices.
New offices for Rusty and Shayne are being created where
2 secretaries formerly had their desks. All the
secretaries are now in the attendance area. Stop
in to see the "new look"!
Rooms 201, 203, 205, and 207 will be "connected" to the
new building starting 12/17 to be finished 1/7.
Rooms 209, 211, and 213 will be "connected" from
1/14-25. Room 207 will cease to exist...it will
become a hallway connecting the new and old buildings.
A "good-bye to Room 207" party was held on 12/14 in Mrs. Lagioia's classes.
During this "connecting" phase, all classes need to be
moved to vacant classrooms! Not an easy task!
Kudos to these teachers who are exhibiting "saint-like
patience"!
You will see many more pictures as soon
as I can get inside!
