Style is important. Document design and layout are
paramount to ethos in a scholarly endeavor.
Anytime I ask you to type something, I would like it to appear in MLA format.
I will demonstrate in class how to implement these features (examples below).
MLA format contains:
- Times New Roman (12 pt. font) (this is it)
- double-spaced (click "format," then click "paragraph")
- two spaces after every sentence (periods, question marks, etc.)
- spell-checked (ABC button)
- 1 inch margins for top/bottom (click "file," then click "page setup")
- 1 - 1.25 inch margins for sides
- left-justified heading (contains name, class, instructor, day-month-year)
- centered title (with extra spacing)
- page # footers (also centered)
