Semester Review Requirements The Objective
The main reason for this assignment is for the
student ot have an opportunity to experience live performance. You
may attend a live performance of your choice. The performance cannot be
a sporting event. You cannot participate in any way.
You are required to attend one concert per semester
and write a concert review, which is your reaction to the aforementioned
performance. The Paper
The Concert review must be turned in within two weeks
of the performance. A review must be accompanied by either a
ticket stub or a concert program showing the date of the performance.
Concert reviews are to be typed,
doubled-spaced, using no greater than 14-point font, and covering no
more than 3 pages. Your paper should include
the following:
- Summary - Who, What, Where, and When of the
event
- Critique - What did you like or dislike about
the performance? Justify each statement. Be Specific!
- Conclusion - Wrap up your thoughts. How did
this performance make you a better musician?
The Grade
This assignment is graded with the same weight as a
test. Any extra concert reviews that you
turn in each semester in addition to the one required will be used as
extra credit to offset any sectional that you have missed during that
particular semester. One review will be accepted for every missed
sectional. The final day to turn in
concert reviews will be posted during the school year. |
