General Physics S432

Physics S432 is a first year physics course for Juniors and Seniors. Many students choose to study physics as a preparatory class for college...and they will find it challenging enough to give them confidence as they enter a college curriculum. Most colleges require 3 years of lab science and physics is typically the last course in the sequence that meets this prerequisite.

This course is conceptually based...making use of Hewitt's Conceptual Physics textbook and putting the learning emphasis on the student to comprehend the concepts that help us understand the physical world.

Topics covered include:

Forces and Motion
Gravitation
Nature of Light
Work, Power, Energy
Waves and Vibrations
Optics
2-Dimensional Motion
Sound
Electricity and Magnetism
