Advanced Topics Physics S469

Advanced Topics Physics is different from AP Physics. AP physics is a first year course where we teach toward the Physics B Test. In Advanced Topics Physics, students who find physics fun and interesting get a chance to cover some of the topics not covered very thoroughly in the first year courses.

This course meets for 1 period every day during only one semester. In that time, students are required to cover interesting applications of the physics related to

  • SHM
  • Relativity
  • Rotation

The time required to cover these topics is approximately 9 weeks. For the remaining 9 weeks, teachers are free to choose from any other physics topic, some of which are

  • Electricity
  • Fluids
  • Nuclear Physics

This course is not just for those students who plan to major in science. It is a good course for any student who finds it fun to apply his/her knowledge of the way things work!
