What is Force?
Force simply is a push or a pull on
an object. When you are pulling on a wagon, you are exerting a force
on it. Different kinds of forces include contact force or field force.
A contact force is something that is in contact with something else like
a football player kicking a ball. A field force is an atttraction
between two objects. An example of this would be two magnets.
| Force of Gravity | The force with which the earth pulls. |
| Force Normal | The force of an object that pushes back on it |
| Force Friction | The force in the opposite direction of something that is moving. Depends upon the coefficient of friction and the force normal. |
| Force Tension | The force of tension in a string of some sort. |
| Force of spring | The force that a spring has to bounce back after it is compressed ot vice-versa. This depends on the distant it stretches and the strength of the spring called the constant. |
Newton's Laws
1) Law of inertia is body at rest or in motion tends to stay at rest or in motion unless acted upon by a net external force.
2) Law of motion is if net external force acts on
an object, the object accelerates in the direction of the net force.
<equation>
3) For every acting force, there is an equal and
opposite reaction force
