Plane Waves Striking a Barrier at a Glancing Angle

Situation: Below is a movie of a wave made in a ripple tank which strikes a barrier that has been placed in the water. The movie was produced at 15 frames per second.

You should notice that the direction of wave motion (propagation) changes direction after it strikes the barrier. This is called reflection.

Problem: Identify a relationship between the direction of motion and the direction of the reflected wave. You might want to use the following still image, pointing recorder, & the point to angle converter to help you uncover this.
