Welcome!
Welcome! I am so glad you
are a student or a parent of a student here at Schaumburg High School. This is a great school to attend
and work at. So what do you want to know about me? I like to work in
chronological order, thus the reason I am a social studies teacher.
The high school years:
I am a graduate of James B. Conant High School (the archrival of Schaumburg). I graduated in 1999. I was
involved in volleyball, basketball and track. I was also a member of student
council and SADD.
The college years:
I attended two universities.
The first one was Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. I received a basketball scholarship.
My dreams of playing all ended when I hurt my knee. My parents picked me up
from Missouri and on the way home we stopped at Eastern Illinois University for my brother's official visit for
wrestling.
I made the switch! I started
my sophomore year at EIU. I quickly became involved on campus. I rushed a
sorority, Kappa Delta. I became involved within the Greek community by
supporting many philanthropies and being elected to a council position for
Kappa Delta. I also became involved in the education community by becoming the
President of the History club and the Vice-President for Federation of
Teachers.
College felt like it flew by.
I began my second semester as a senior student teaching at Dundee Crown High School in Carpentersville, Il. I worked under the guidance of
Bruce Firchau. He was a great inspiration to me. I
graduated from Eastern Illinois University with tornadoes touching down, hail
and a power failure on May 10, 2003. What a wonderful day!
GO EIU!!
Family:
I am the proud first born
child. I have an Irish twin brother named Jimmie. He was a Varsity starting
wrestler at 255 lbs at Eastern Illinois University. He graduated in the spring of 2006.
The last piece of the puzzle for the Kassner family
is my little sister, Kailey. She is a Senior at Conant High School this year. She is active player in
volleyball, basketball and softball. I am a very proud sister!
