VISHAL MEHTA
Vishal is a
standout. He has a work ethic uncharacteristic of today’s youth. Vishal is
highly motivated and extremely hard working. His commitment to learn both in
and out of the classroom is to be applauded. Much of his success can
be attributed to his maturity in managing time, prioritizing tasks, as well
as intellectual curiosity.
Vishal is an enthusiastic student who understands that learning can and
should be fun. He is a diligent worker and a great role model in the
classroom. He has a knack for creating a learning environment that is
extremely productive. Although he wants to get to the answer, he also
wants to enjoy the time it takes. He values the opinions of his
teachers and peers, and works collectively to achieve excellent results.
With his witty personality, and charisma, Vishal not only fits into any
group, he makes it better.
Vishal is a talented and well-rounded young man.
In addition to excelling in the classroom, Vishal has been committed to the
SHS Debate Team, Student to Student, and SHO. For the past three
years, Vishal Mehta has actively participated with the Debate Team to attain
regional, State, and National acclaim.

He has consistently won 1st place at numerous
tournaments, presided over many important
topics, and coached our novices to victory as
the Captain this year. Distinctively, he earned
one of two Congressional Debate seats at the
National Debate Tournament for 2008 and the
National Forensic League (honor society of
Speech and Debate students) declared him their
Student of the Year. Outside of his competition,
you will find him at every practice waxing
political over current events, impromptu
speaking, and the future of the Debate Team.
As an active and instrumental member of the
Student to Student organization Vishal has
played an integral part in both the planning and
visiting of elementary schools in the community.
While serving as a mentor in the community,
Vishal represents SHS well as he interacts with
elementary students. He is passionate and
extremely personable. He is truly caring
and committed to the youth of the community. He
looks to better their future.
We at Schaumburg High School have witnessed Vishal’s ability
to make a difference. Next fall, Vishal plans to attend either the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he plans to study Aviation/Law.
He will undoubtedly make significant contributions to both the learning
community and his respective field of study.
Congratulations to
VISHAL MEHTA
